How to clean olive wood utensils

This post is all about cleaning every utensil you have that is made from olive wood. I will show you step by step and it’s actually pretty easy, because we do not use any kind of chemicals or varnish! So, I was cooking my lunch, and, as always, I used my chopping board from olive wood. This is how I clean it!

Step One: Use the sponge and the detergent you use for your dishes. The temperature of the water can be cold or pretty warm. You can rub it with the sponge, don’t worry about scratches. It will just not happen!

Step Two: Rinse it, till all the foam is gone!

Step Three: Let it dry.

When it is dry, you can put it back in its place. Once a month, we recommend to oil it just a bit. You can use whatever oil you use for cooking, for example olive oil, sunflower oil, mineral oil. Use a small sponge (a clean one, you can have one only for that purpose) or a paper towel, soak it in the oil and apply it all over the surface.  Then you can either let it absorb it and dry or, if you are in a hurry, use a paper towel to wipe the oil up. This five-minute procedure will give a fresh breath to your olive wood utensils and you will maintain them in a great condition!
